Principal's Message

Sockburn is a contributing Primary School with classes from Year 1 – to Year 6.  We are a school that cares about each and every child who attends.

We are a very well equipped school which includes an assembly hall, swimming pool, a well stocked and computerised library, video, computers in every classroom, and a wide range of musical equipment and sporting gear.

The staff strive to provide programmes designed to meet the individual needs of your children.  There is a strong commitment to teaching the basic skills of learning which act as a sound foundation.

Broad programmes are designed to develop the many and varied interests and skills of children.

The playground is a safe place to be with duty teachers being supported by peer mediators, and playground activities and competitions being run by members of the school Physical Activities Council.

We value contact between school and home and would like to extend to you an open invitation to visit our school and to participate in areas where you would like to assist.  Through the development of this “Partnership” I believe we create a positive relationship which allows each child to develop to his / her fullest potential.
